FRANCE, AROUND 1700 BAROQUE MOULDING FRAME FROM THE ERA OF LUDWIG XIV. Carved oak, polyment gilding on chalk ground and red bolus. The inner profile with cymation, the outer circumference with carved floral decoration in high relief. Outer profile with tooth-cut ornament. Overall exterior dimensions: 80 x 67 cm, interior dimensions: 63.7 x 49.8 cm. Part. min. losses to gilding, stress cracks in the corners. Provenance: Berlin private collection.
