THREE WOOD CARVED 'ANIMAL' NETSUKE Japan, 19th century or later Wood. L. 5-8.2 cm. Including a netsuke carved as an octopus, a netsuke as a recumbent ox and a netsuke as tanuki priest with signature "Sanraku". With traces of age and use, slightly damaged or abraded. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
