Description
A FINE IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF AN ONI AT SETSUBUN Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 2.5 cm. The netsuke is carved as an oni hiding in a box while beans are thrown to him during the Setsubun ceremony, signed on the bottom "Masakazu". With traces of use, partially cracked, inlays lost. This lot contains elephant ivory and is therefore subject to CITES regulations with restrictions on imports or exports. It is a buyer's responsibility to obtain any export or import licences, certifications and any other required documentation. Certificate for intra-EU trade is issued. Provenance: From an old private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
