A FINE IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF SARUMNAWASHI Japan, 18th century Ivory. H. 9.4 cm. The netsuke is carved as a standing and smiling monkey trainer carrying his monkey on his right shoulder. With traces of use, partially cracked and abraded. This lot contains elephant ivory and is therefore subject to CITES regulations with restrictions on imports or exports. It is a buyer's responsibility to obtain any export or import licences, certifications and any other required documentation. Certificate for intra-EU trade is issued. Provenance: From an old private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
