Description
A FINE IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF A SLEEPING BOAR Japan, 18th/19th century Ivory. L. 5.8 cm. The netsuke is carved as a boar sleeping on autumn leaves. With traces of use, partially cracked and damged. This lot contains elephant ivory and is therefore subject to CITES regulations with restrictions on imports or exports. It is a buyer's responsibility to obtain any export or import licences, certifications and any other required documentation. Certificate for intra-EU trade is issued. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
