Description
A FINE IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF SHOKI WITH ONI Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 7.1 cm. The netsuke is carved as shoki holding a struggling oni with left hand and his sword with the other. With traces of age and use, slightly damaged. This lot contains elephant ivory and is therefore subject to CITES regulations with restrictions on imports or exports. It is a buyer's responsibility to obtain any export or import licences, certifications and any other required documentation. Certificate for intra-EU trade is issued. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
