A FINE WOOD CARVED NETSUKE OF A NOH ACTOR Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 3.4 cm. The netsuke is carved as a Noh dancer in the role of Hannya donning a cloak overhead, signed "Minkoku" at the bottom. With traces of age and use, probably parts missing. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
