EIN GAU-REISENSCHREIN

A GAU BOX China (Tibet), 19th/20th century Metal/silver, repoussé, textile, etc.. 12.5x15.5x5 cm. A rectangular amulet container with a glass-covered, leaf-shaped altar window on the front, flanked by two repoussé dragons facing each other, with a Mahakala head and a Lakshmi emblem in between. Inside is a bas-relief of Buddha Akshobhya. Comes in a colorful fabric pouch with carrying straps. With traces of use, partially abraded and damaged.
