A WOOD CARVED ASHTRAY NETSUKE OF DARUMA Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 3.9 cm. The suigara-uke is carved as daruma pulling on his face with both hands with hollowed-out back, signed "Rakumin" on the bottom. With traces of age and use, slightly damaged. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
