A WOOD CARVED NETSUKE OF A BLIND BEGGAR Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 3.7 cm. The netsuke is carved as a blind beggar with one inlaid eye crouching on the ground and trying to lift his huge scrotum, signed "Ittan" on the bottom. With traces of age and use. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
