A WOOD CARVED NETSUKE OF A SHISHI Japan, 18th/19th century Wood. H. 5.2 cm. The netsuke is carved as a preying lion jumping off a ball. With traces of use, partially abraded and damaged. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
