AN IVORY NETSUKE OF A DUTCHMAN AND AN IVORY NETSUKE OF A MALE FIGURE Japan, 18th/19th century Ivory. H. 3.3-5 cm. Including a netsuke of a seated dutchman holding a fan and a netsuke of a shocked man carrying a boy on back. With traces of use, partially damaged and cracked. This lot contains elephant ivory and is therefore subject to CITES regulations with restrictions on imports or exports. It is a buyer's responsibility to obtain any export or import licences, certifications and any other required documentation. Certificate for intra-EU trade is issued. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
