A BONE AND MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAID LACQUERED WOOD CABINET IN THE STYLE OF RITSUO Japan, Meiji period Lacquerware. H. ca. 27 cm with base. The wide, rectangular cabinet is decorated on the exterior with birds, flowers, and landscape scenes. It features two side-hung doors that open to reveal an interior fitted with three drawers, each adorned with floral motifs. The top of the cabinet is fitted with a handle for easy carrying. With traces of use and age, partially abraded and slightly cracked, some of the decorations are missing.
