Description
A SILVER LACQUER AND TSUISHU FOUR-CASE INRO Japan, probably 19th century Lacquerware. H. of inro 9 cm, D. of netsuke 3.4 cm. The inro of tsuishu is decorated on each side with a panel depicting eight rakans in hiramaki, the interior is of nashiji, accompanied by a tsuishu two-part manju netsuke decorated with orchid. With traces of use, slightly damaged. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
