A THANGKA DEPICTING MAHOTTARA HERUKA China (Tibet), 19th/20th century Distemper on cloth, framed under glass. Visible size 82.5x60 cm (102.5x79.5 cm with frame). The thangka of Nyingma tradition depicts Chemchog Heruka embracing consort at the center, surrounded by five other Heruka forms and attendant figures with animal and daemon faces. With traces of age, partially damaged or with loss of color. Comparable to an almost identical work on Himalayan Art Resources (item no. 72).
