Description
A CARVED IVORY BROOCH FRAMED IN GILT FILIGREE China, late Qing Dynasty Ivory/Gold/Coral. D. 5.8 cm. The middle of the brooch is an ivory carving of figures from the story of the Western Chamber, surrounded by fine gilt filigree crafting in the form of dragons, and above it is a Buddhist lion with a coral inlay. The back is marked "Xian Ji (Mandarin) /Hin Kee (Cantonese)" and "Y". With traces of use, slightly stained and abraded.
