Description
A FINE IVORY AND SILVER SHIBAYAMA VASE WITH COVER Japan, around 1900 Silver/ Ivory /Enamel. H. 19.8 cm. The ivory-carved body of this vase, signed "Okatomi", depicts a group of figures doing farm work in a field. The vase is flanked by finely detailed dragon-shaped handles on both sides, and the lid features a carved eagle with outstretched wings. Additionally, both the upper and lower silver parts of the vase are decorated with delicate enamel patterns. The bottom of the vase is signed "Komyo". With traces of use, slightly abraded.
