SONG YU, PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN IN QIPAO China, 2006 Oil on canvas, framed. Visible size 99x79 cm (112.5x92.5x4.5 cm with frame). Signed and dated lower right. With slight traces of age. Song Yu (b.1973) was born in Beijing. He works currently as a teacher at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, specializing in figures, still lifes and landscapes. He studied under the French classicist painter Claude Yvel, and mainly focuses on classical hyper-realistic still lifes. Provenance: From a private collection in Northern Germany, acquired directly from the artist.
