TWO CARVED NETSUKE OF DOG Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 2.7-3.3 cm. Including a signed netsuke of a puppy holding an abalone shell and an ivory netsuke of a dog resting on a drum. With traces of use, partially cracked. This lot contains elephant ivory and is therefore subject to CITES regulations with restrictions on imports or exports. It is a buyer's responsibility to obtain any export or import licences, certifications and any other required documentation. Certificate for intra-EU trade is issued. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
