Description
TWO IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF FIGURE GROUP IN JAPANESE FOLK BELIEFS Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. ca. 2.5-5.8 cm. Including a netsuke carved as a group of demons probably at Hyakki Yagyo with signature "Masayuki" as well as another piece carved as Raijin and Fujin in the company of Raitaro and other gods or demons. With traces of use, partially cracked and chipped. This lot contains elephant ivory and is therefore subject to CITES regulations with restrictions on imports or exports. It is a buyer's responsibility to obtain any export or import licences, certifications and any other required documentation. Certificate for intra-EU trade is issued. Provenance: From an old private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
