Description
AUGUSTINE & EMIL LEJEUNE (AEL) Active early 20th century London 'SPEED NYMPH' (COOLER FIGURE) around 1909 Bronze, dark patina, with screw thread. H. 21, w. 8,5, d. 11 cm, weight approx. 0,91kg. Marked 'C' PRIEST PZ' on the side and 'REG/ED' and 'AEL' on the reverse, dated '09'. Fully sculpted depiction of a standing female nude, arms stretched backwards. Emile and his wife Augustine Lejeune moved from France to London in 1904 and as AEL the company concentrated on the production of small, decorative ornamental bronzes. Part. Loss of patina and bumped.
