THREE-PART ROYAL MIRROR ENSEMBLE FREDERIK IV. Denmark, probably 18th century or later Wall mirror, carved wood, gilded, splendid leaf decoration, blue glass, pair of wings with brass candlesticks. H. 131, w. 75, d. 7 cm, wall appliqués h. 61 cm. Monogrammed in the center of the catouche. A royal, Danish, high rectangular mirror with carved frame. Crowning relief decoration with the monogram of King Frederik IV (reigned 1699-1730), accompanied by a pair of wing appliqués with brass candlesticks. The mirror comes from the royal collection and was presented as a gift from King Christian IX to Professor Schou, who served as the king's personal surgeon. Partly chipped and damaged, rest.
