HISTORICISM CASKET WITH IVORY AND TORTOISESHELL INLAY* Probably France, 19th century Various woods, ebony, with elaborate, inlaid decoration of tortoiseshell, ivory inlays, brass fittings. H. 47, w. 60, d. 42 cm. On lion's paw feet, rectangular body in the shape of a chest and protruding top plate with all-round carved decoration and decorative strip. Side handles and decorated hinges. Two inlaid knights on horses in a richly carved ornamental arch on the front. Part. bumped. CITES marketing certificate is available.
