RENAISSANCE CHEST Italy, probably 19th century. Walnut, solid, gilded and polychrome painted, iron fittings, handles on the sides. H. 67, w. 168, d. 57 cm. Rectangular body on mask feet with hinged top. Carved allegory of the wind and foliage on the lid. Chest front with carved, crowned coat of arms, bird and cube in the center, flanked on the sides by a mural architecture and animal and person staffage. Partly chipped and damaged, old anobia infestation inside.
