VIOLIN MITTENWALD SCHOOL 'BARTHOLOMÄUS KARNER' Mittenwald, probably late 18th century. Two-piece spruce top and maple back, dark brown reddish varnish. 4/4 violin, l. 58.6, body length 35.5 cm. Violin label: 'Barthol. Karner in Mittenwald an der Iser. An. 1781, marked '1781' on the back, monogrammed 'P.M.' on the underside on the rib by the tailpiece '82 03'. With original Jaeger case. Min. bumped and rubbed, the ribs slightly bumped. Provenance: private collection Berlin.
