AN IMPORTANT SILVER TRIPTYCH SHOWING ST. ALEXIY, METROPOLITAN OF MOSCOW, FLANKED BY STS. NICHOLAS OF MYRA AND BARBARA Russian, early 20th century (painting), Russian, Moscow, Ivan Khlebnikov, 1908-1917 (silver mount) Tempera on metal, finely executed in great detail against a gold ground. The Saint shown half-length. All decorated with intense chrysography. Held in a finely chased silver frame with scroll and foliate borders. Marked with assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'KHLEBNIKOV' in Cyrillic with Imperial warrant. 18 x 19.3 cm (extended).
