A FINE ICON SHOWING THE NATIVIY OF CHRIST AND THE FLIGHT INTO EGYPT Russian, Palekh, 1st quarter 19th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Finely executed in great detail on gilt ground. The icon depicting the Nativity of Christ as described in the Gospels of Matthew, Luke, and the Protoevangelium with the Nativity itself at the top, the flight into Egypt below. Minimally restored. 34.3 x 28.8 cm.
