A FINE ICON SHOWING THE IVERSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD WITH A SILVER OKLAD Russian, mid 19th century (icon), Russian, Nizhny Novgorod, Aleksey Ignatiev Zanolskiy, 1858 (oklad) Tempera on wood panel. Finely executed in great detail on a gold ground. Two selected saints on the borders: Sts. Paraskeva and Ludmilla. Overlaid with a silver oklad repoussé and chased with shells. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'AZ' in Cyrillic. Minor losses. 27 x 22.5 cm.
