A FINE ICON SHOWING THE ANNUNCIATION OF THE MOTHER OF GOD WITH A SILVER OKLAD Russian, 18th century (icon), Russian, St. Petersburg, Robert Kokhun, 1860 (oklad) Tempera on wood panel. The haloes made of gold. Four selected saints on the borders, Sts. Alexius, the Man of God and Mary of Egypt among them. The silver oklad finely chased and embossed with scrolls. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'R.K.' in Cyrillic. Minor losses. 29.6 x 25.2 cm.
