A LARGE ICON SHOWING THE MOTHER OF GOD 'OF THE BURNING BUSH' WITH A SILVER PARCEL-GILT OKLAD Russian, Astrakhan, circa 1845 Tempera on wood panel, executed against a golden background. The silver oklad chased and repoussé with scrolling, floral border, the gilded haloes with foliage. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'AI'. The icon painted in recent decades. 38 x 34 cm.
