A LARGE ICON SHOWING THE PROTECTING VEIL OF THE MOTHER OF GOD (POKROV) Russian, Vetka, 2nd half 19th century Tempera on wood panel. Executed in bright colours on a gold ground. Two selected saints on the borders, the Guardian Angel among them. Partially restored. 44.7 x 39.4 cm.
