A LARGE ICON OF THE PIETA Veneto-Cretan, 16th century Tempera on wood panel. Executed against a golden background. The sorrowing Mother of God seated on a marble bench, cradling the body of the Saviour. Vertical crack restored, areas of retouching. 47.3 x 39.5 cm / 52 x 45.2 cm (with frame).
