AN ICON SHOWING CHRIST PANTOKRATOR WITH A SILVER-GILT AND CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL OKLAD Russian, circa 1900 (icon), Russian, Moscow, Semen Galkin, 1896-1908 (oklad) Oil on wood panel with velvet backing. Blessing and bearing the Gospels, painted naturalistically in warm tones, with cloisonné enamelled halo. Marked with assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'SG' in Cyrillic. Partially restored, enamel minimally chipped. 26.8 x 22.5 cm.
