AN ICON SHOWING THE TOLGSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD WITH A SILVER-GILT AND EMBROIDERY OKLAD Russian, 17th century (icon), Russian, Yaroslavl, Alexey Kolototchin, 1871 (oklad) Tempera on wood panel with double kovcheg. The background stripped to gesso, partially restored. Overlaid with a fine embroidered oklad. The embroidery on the garments made of seed-pearls, the hems lined with translucent paste, the silver-gilt oklad engraved with a floral design. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'AK. 31.7 x 27 cm.
