A SMALL AND VERY FINE ICON SHOWING ST. MARY OF EGYPT Russian, 17th century Tempera on wood panel with double kovcheg. The haloes made of gold. In the upper right corner the Mother of God is portrayed half-length. The fringes and the hems of her garment rendered in gold. Christ is dressed in a ochre himation highlighted with chrysography. Burn mark restored. 20 x 16.6 cm.
