A MONUMENTAL ICON SHOWING THE VLADIMIRSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD Russian, 18th century Tempera on wood panel. Finely executed in great detail on a gold ground. The highly decorative image rendered in detail, predominantly with various shades of red, complimented by green and ochre. Two selected saints on the borders: Mikhail and Alexandra. Minor areas of retouching. Cyrillic inscription on the lower edge. 73 x 52.5 cm.
