A MONUMENTAL ICON SHOWING THE VLADIMIRSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD FROM A CHURCH ICONOSTASIS Russian, Palekh, 1st third 19th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Finely executed in great detail on a gold ground. The icon is opulent, with elaborate white and gilt stylised motifs and pearl-studded decorations. The border partially restored. 71.8 x 57.5 cm.
