The background and haloes made of gold. Dated '1739' in the open book. An icon executed in extremely fine painting with a three-dimensional rendering of the flesh tones. The texture of the fur-lined cloak contrasts beautifully with the thin, translucent garment of Christ. The composition is dominated by vibrant red and green tones.
