A RARE ICON SHOWING 'NOLI ME TANGERE' Greek/Balkan, 17th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. The resurrected Christ is standing in a garden landscape at the right. He is wearing chiton and himation with gold striations. Christ gestures with his right arm towards Mary Magdalene, who is kneeling in front of him. Behind her a towering rock can be seen, which in a cave holds Christ's empty grave and shrouds. Vertical crack and lower border restored. 28.8 x 25 cm.
