A PORCELAIN SAUCE BOAT ON A STAND FROM THE SERVICE OF GRAND DUKE KONSTANTIN NIKOLAEVICH Russian, St. Petersburg, Imperial Porcelain Factory, Period of Nicholas I (1825-1855), 1848-1852 Ornamentally painted, partially gilded. Underglaze blue factory mark 'NI' under the crown. Painted with the Grand Duke's monogram in Cyrillic 'WKKN' and with the imperial double-headed eagle. The ceremonial service was designed by F.G. Solntsev for the wedding of the Grand Duke and the Princess of Saxe-Altenburg, the future Grand Duchess Alexandra Iosifovna. Mounting min. loosened. 15 cm high, 24,5 cm long.
