A VERY RARE PLASTER BOZZETTO DEPICTING 'A SAMOYEDIC WOMAN (A NENETS WOMAN)' FROM THE PEOPLE OF RUSSIA SERIES Russian, St. Petersburg, Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, Period of Nicholas II, 1910 Plaster, polychrome painted. On the base remains of the signature in Cyrillic 'P. Kam...' and inventory number '713'. Base partially damaged, the feet of the figure slightly chipped. H. 36 cm. The porcelain figure series "Peoples of Russia" was created in 1913 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty. Between 1907 and 1917, the porcelain figures were produced at the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory. The series comprised 73 nationalities and ethnic types, with a total of 146 individual figures, for which P. P. Kamenski created approximately 150 models. This sculpture series was the most extensive and, at the same time, the last one commissioned by Nicholas II. Exhibits from the Museums of Anthropology and Ethnography served as models for the porcelain figures.
