APOSTLE FIGURE WITH BOOK Probably South German/Austria, 17th century. Wood, carved in full relief, polychrome painted (probably original version), on a small plinth. H. 47, w. 24, d. 12 cm, weight approx. 1.84 kg. Round-viewed full-figure depiction of a bearded apostle with explanatory hand movement and reading in a book. Part. slight loss of color, loss of two fingers of the right hand, slightly old residue. Provenance: Central German private collection.
