ITALIAN SCULPTOR Active in the 19th/20th century BUST OF A LADY (PROBABLY ISOTTA DEGLI ATTI) Terracotta, glazed white, on a plinth (h. 90, w. 48, d. 34 cm). Figure h. 51, w. 46, d. 23 cm. Inside inscribed 'Firenze Italy' and rooster emblem, in the Renaissance style after Matteo Civitali. Sculptural bust probably of Isotta di Rimini 1432/33-1474), the mistress and later wife of the condottiero Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, known as the "Wolf of Rimini" (1417-1468).
