BUST OF A BOY (PROBABLY JOHN THE BAPTIST) Italy, 17th/18th century. White marble, soaked in liquid wax. H. 30.5, w. 22, d. 13.5 cm, weight approx. 11 kg. Probably the successor of the sculptor Antonio Rossellino (1427-1479), design after the portal of the Baptistery in Florence. Min. rubbed and bumped, min. dam. to the shoulder. Literature: Cf.
